New WSRP Chair Susan Hutchison - A Step Forward

Seattle, WA - Log Cabin Republicans commend the newly elected WSRP Chair Susan Hutchison for taking steps forward in better inclusion of the LGBT Community in the Party by not drawing out Gay Marriage.  When asked on a live interview on Q13 if the party needed to soften its opposition to gay marriage, Chair Hutchison said the issue has been settled.  “That was last year,” she said.  “I’m looking forward."

We appreciate Chair Hutchison's comments in showing that there are bigger issues concerning the Washington Republican Party and we look forward to working with her in moving our state in the RIGHT direction.  You can read the full article here.

Log Cabin Republicans of Washington Get Much Support at 2012 Seattle PrideFest

Seattle, WA-  The Log Cabin Republicans of Washington State (LCRWA) received great support and interest from the LGBT community at this year’s 2012 Seattle PrideFest: Love More Hate Less.  After the conclusion of the Pride Parade in downtown Seattle, thousands visited booths at the Seattle Center where the LCRWA were located.  Many approached the booth and signed-up to receive updates and become members.  With Referendum 74 being on the ballot this November the LCRWA made sure to educate the fact that it would not have passed in the state legislature without Republican support, the support of four senate and two house of representative Republicans.

The LCRWA are supporters of Referendum 74 and can be found as a coalition partner on their website

Log Cabin Republicans of Washington will continue to make their presence known in liberal Washington and advocate for the support of Republicans who support fairness, freedom, and equality for gay and lesbian Americans.

These folks could have steered clear of the issue, but opted instead to stand up for fairness and equality. [Read more...]
